About Me

First "Your past will prepare you for your future. As I began to meet people online, mailnly on twitter, I met a group of God loving ppl that have taken me in like family.
In October my niece had a beautiful little boy named Jacob Daniel Delozier, Jacob had and undetected CHD and whie the doctors did everything they could and Jacob was a brave lit soul and fought a good fight Jacob went to Heaven in December. As I prayed on twitter and people were aware that I had lost Shane in 1987 at 7 months old. One can imagine I took this loss very hard. I got a call one day from this beautiful southern woman Marie @spreadingJoy and she prayed with me for Jacob but she told me something I will never forget. And the credit for the phrase "Your past will prepare you for your future goes to another Dear friend Richard @mcprodigal. More and more I learn what the meant. As you read most NOT ALL but most my blogs you will see, what I blog about now, life today and my experiences  all the tools I need now today to deal with these experiences, Ive lived it. MY PAST HAS PREPARED ME.
This blog was originally started to raise cancer awareness. As I learned Its about much more. Its about using my experiences, even the painful ones and helping others. I lost my son Shane Donovan in a car accident in 1987. Not a day goes by I dont miss him, think of him, but I find peace in knowing he is in Heaven with Jesus as is Jacob. And we will meet again one day.
I am a wife, mother and grandmother of four. In 2002 my family's life took a drastic turn as my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. As my mom was going through Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments, my sister Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer as well and had to go through the same process. Thanks to God that both my Mother and Jenny are now 8 year survivors and counting.

After thinking things were getting better, mom found out she had lung cancer and had to go through the Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments again. She told us "The lord has blessed me with a beautiful family and a good life. If its my time, I am putting this in his hands." Praise God 8 yrs later she remains cancer free as does my sister.

I Lost my Uncle to colon cancer, as a little girl I remember so clearly visiting my little cousin who had leukemia and later bone cancer. Bone cancer took her at a very young age. My father is no longer with us, "RIP Daddy." He had two of his brothers to lose their battles with Cancer.

My family and I are very involved in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life campaign. Raising money to help fight this deadly disease and to find a cure is a great passion of mine. I have also started HOPE4ACURE, which is a non-profit organization aimed at raising money, awareness of cancer, CHD and just helping those in need in general..It is also helping me live my dream of KEEPING HOPE ALIVE
